Ultrasound

Ultrasound is a tool that is used to collect images of organs within the body.  Unlike a CT scan or an X-Ray, ultrasound uses sound waves to create pictures of the inside portion of the body part being examined.  Ultrasound also allows us to evaluate the body in “real time”, like watching your baby stretch and move during an obstetric ultrasound.  Depending on what information your healthcare provider is looking to obtain your ultrasound may be either vaginal or abdominal.

In addition to our routine ultrasound services, we also offer 3D/4D Ultrasounds. 3D/4D fetal imaging is for your enjoyment and is not intended to diagnose or treat any condition. Insurance will not cover the cost of this ultrasound; we do offer this service for $175, which includes multiple hard copy pictures & a DVD recording of your 3D/4D session. Best time for 3D pictures is between 26-28 weeks. If a potential abnormality is seen we may recommend that a formal ultrasound be performed to evaluate your baby more thoroughly.
